This Monday, July 5, 2021, Chilean Law 21.355 was published in the Official Gazette, which modifies the current Law No. 19.039 on Intellectual Property – in force in Chile since 1991 – whose consolidated, coordinated and systematized text was established by the decree with force of law N°3, of 2006, of the Ministry of Economy, Development and Reconstruction of Chile.
The recently approved “Short Law” of Intellectual Property in Chile introduces important amendments to the current Law No. 19.039, in order to improve the current Intellectual Property system, allowing a better protection and enforcement of these rights and establishing more efficient and expeditious registration procedures that will facilitate the process for users.
The new Law incorporates modifications in relation to different categories of rights, trademarks, invention patents, industrial designs and business secrets, among others.
In this webinar we will review the main modifications of the Law and their impact.
