3D printing is a technology that is still searching for a market, and maybe it has found its space in the world of medicine. The US Food and Drug Administration approved a medication for epilepsy called Spritram that is manufactured with a 3D printer, making it the first 3D-printed pharmaceutical product approved by the FDA for internal use in the human body.  

Aprecia, the pharmaceutical company behind Spritam, says that its new type of pill is made through 3D printed layers, and then excess dust is removed. The structure of the pill makes it dissolve considerably faster than average.
