According to the note published by the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BPTO) on March 3rd, 2020, the filing of trademark in Brazil in the form of multi-class or co-ownership, as well as the division of applications/registrations, are suspended still pending on a date set for entry into force.
At the end of last year, the BPTO published Resolutions regulating these systems, informing that they would come into force as from March 9th, 2020. However, and according to the note published this week, for issues related to the implementation of the computerized and processing system the entry into force of these procedures is temporarily suspended.
For the time being the BPTO did not inform new dates for the implementation of these systems, but as soon as we have news on this matter we will update you accordingly.
