  • New legislation

International patent offices are providing incentives for green-innovative businesses to develop and quickly bring products incorporating green technology into the marketplace. Companies must carefully craft patent applications to secure rights to green inventions.

The National Institute of Industrial Property in Brazil launched in year 2012 a pilot program to accelerate green patent applications.

Aiming to stimulate scientific research and development of sustainable technologies in Brazil, the Brazilian BPTO (INPI) just announced that the Green Patent pilot program is extended for another year.

It is now in its 4rd phase and it accepts PCT applications.

If you are developing green technology, it may be worth considering the advantages of pursuing this program. Contact us if you need further information.

The technologies that can participate in this program include: Alternative energy, transport, energy conservation, waste management and agriculture.
