For the sixth consecutive year the prize was delivered in Argentina The Prize Clarke, Modet & Co Argentina to journalism of popularization of science and technology was delivered in Argentina. The event took place on Wednesday 30 November at 12pm in the Hall of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Cordoba, Sita in Rosario Santa Fe 231 3rd floor in a pleasant event and open to the public, that counted with the presence of authorities of the company, journalists and local entrepreneurs.
In this edition, the journalist Diego Ludueña and his team were awarded with the first prize for his work “Franca, the southern whale”, a documentary broadcast on the Channel 10 of Cordoba (available here), which shows studies on this species made in the Valdes Peninsula, Chubut.
Priscilla Fernandez won a special mention for its note “BIOTEC”, a full investigation on biotechnology and its current uses, published in the magazine ConCiencia of the National University of the Littoral.
The jury was composed of five personalities of recognized trajectory in the areas of science, innovation, education, outreach and journalism: Pedro Bekinschtein, Carlos María Bruno, Hernán Charreau, Gabriela Neffa y Valeria Román.
In this opportunity, were the origin of the winners and the desire to federalize the contest those who encouraged the company to relocate the ceremony to the city of Cordoba. The workshop* that Clarke, Modet & Co had planned to provide there together with the unit of technological tying of Cordoba (UVITEC) formed the ideal framework for the event.
The ceremony count with the collaboration of speakers as Jorge Damaso Ybáñez, journalist cordoban winner of the 2012 edition of the competition, and Carlos Maria Bruno, who emphasized the importance of the popularization of science and the value of the initiative.
* Workshop “Enhance innovation as an intangible asset: The patent as added value to access the benefits of the ANR line,” that the patent specialists from Clarke, Modet & Co. and UVITEC offered the same day to entrepreneurs and employers of Cordoba.
