On Wednesday May 13th, Clarke, Modet & Co Chile’s journalist, Constanza Pérez, attended the seminar on Intellectual Property organized by the National Institute on Intellectual Property (INAPI) and the World Organization on Intellectual Property (OMPI). The event was inaugurated by Maximiliano Santa Cruz, INAPI’s National Director, who referred to the importance of knowing and understanding the national system for Intellectual and Industrial Property and the advances that the government has achieved in this area.
There were 6 conferences in total; Claudio Ossa, Libraries, Archives and Museums Director (DIBAM) lectured on copyright matters; Carolina Belmar, Assistant Director of INAPI lectured on distinctive signs in Chile and Ernesto Manríquez, head of INAPI’s Department on Patent Examination lectured on patent-related matters. Additionally, three of OMPI’s members lectured on Intellectual and Industrial Property and Innovation matters via videoconference call: Marcelo Di Pietro, Director of Operations at the World Academy; Carsten Fink, Head of the Economy and Statistics Division and Mario Matus, General Deputy Director of the Development Area.
