On 1 October 2018, effective immediately, the Venezuelan, Patent and Trademark Office (SAPI) published an increase in the portion of official fees that are not dependent on the Tax Unit.
The main procedures that are affected by this increase are the following:
Trademarks, Patents, Utility Models and Industrial Design
– Searches, applications and publications
– Renewals and annuities
– License for use
– Holder changes
Copyright
– Searches, applications and certificates
The granting of Trademarks, Utility Models and Industrial Designs has not been affected by this increase.
We would like to remind you that the payment of the official fees in dollars, which is applicable to foreign rights holders, continues to be suspended until further notice from the SAPI.
