While the country is worried about the truckers and tankers strike, late last night, without any spotlight, the plenary of House of Representatives approved the opinion on the Legislative Bill on Protection of Personal Data in Brazil – Legislative Bill 4060/12.

Now, after the approval abovementioned, Legislative Bill 4060/12 could be voted faster in the Plenary of House of Representatives, without the need for consideration by the special commission.
It is important to observe that the House of Representatives and Senate are accelerating the approval of this project, as they intend to make possible the validation of a regulatory data framework in Brazil before the end of the current legislature. Furthermore, the Bill is strongly influenced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that came into force in Europe on May 25.
