Paraguay: 12th Nice Classification as of April 1st, 2023

Paraguayan PTO (Dinapi) has announced through Decision 80/23 that starting April 1st, 2023, the twelfth edition of the Nice Classification (NCL 12-2023) will come into force and be applied to any application that is received after such date.

Adjusting the classification to current times has led to this new version, which includes several changes. Many class headings and explanatory notes have been amended and new goods and services have been included. From respiratory masks, yoga blankets, non-alcoholic beer, and downloadable digital files authenticated by NFTs to online social networking services, there is a wide variety of new goods and services to be protected.

In Paraguay, although the PTO will not reclassify the list of goods and services of applications with a filing date earlier than April 1, 2023, renewal applications will have to be re-classified accordingly.
