Ratification of appeals to maintain your trademarks and patents interests in Venezuela

The Venezuelan Patent and Trademark Office (VPTO) has informed of a process to speed up decisions over trademark and patent appeals.
The VPTO has notified to the interested parties, in the Extraordinary Gazette Official No. 588 dated November 12, 2018, that they must ratify in writing their interest in continuing pending appeal procedures.
The ratification writs must be submitted up to January 14, 2019.
In case of not filing a ratification writ, the VPTO will consider that the applicants have no interest in continuing with trademark and patent applications and will proceed in consequence to declare the lapsing of the trademarks and patents considering them as definitely abandoned.
