Shenzhen in China, Istanbul in Turkey, Tallinn in Estonia, https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santiago_de_Chile, and Santiago de Chile. Those were the cities chosen by the website of the influential Inc. magazine as the best ecosystem for startups in the world. Apart from Silicon Valley, obviously.
The Chilean capital that the city has made a name as one of the friendliest for foreign entrepreneurs and for being a market that serves as a test platform to expand across Latin America. In this context, the support offered by Start-Up Chile is particularly emphasized.
The same publication devoted another article to explain the peculiarities of the capital ecosystem. It ensures that Santiago has a kind of “Californian vibe” with a low cost of living and low levels of corruption. Regarding other areas the piece also mentioned the existence of risk aversion and little venture capital.
