Validation of European patents in Morocco

The European Patent Office (EPO) has just ratified the Validation Agreement signed with Morocco at the end of 2010, that it will come into force on 1 March 2015.
Now it will be possible to validate all European Patent Applications filed on or after that date in Morocco, once they have been granted and the validation tax paid.
The European Patent thus validated in Morocco will have the same effect as a Moroccan national patent.
The EPO has recently signed other Validation Agreements with countries which are not part of the European Patent Convention (Moldavia and Tunisia, to date), and are awaiting ratification. Once into force it will be possible to extend the effects of the European Patent granted in the said territories, as if it were a national patent of the country in question.
