María Luisa Santa María

With more than 20 years at leading national and international firms, María Luisa Santa María provides advice to foreign and domestic clients on the protection of their intellectual property rights, including trademark counseling and prosecution, jointly with the strategic enforcement of other intangible assets. Her main areas of practice also comprise out of court claims and IP litigation, involving the representation of clients in injunctions and cease of use actions, mediation, opposition and cancellation proceedings. She has broad experience in negotiating, contract drafting and recording of licenses, security interests, assignments of intellectual property assets and settlement agreements. Additionally, she advises clients on copyright matters in a wide variety of industries.

Education

Law degree from the Catholic University of Argentina. Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and MARQUES, as well as of the Buenos Aires Bar Association (CPACF) and the Argentine Association of Industrial Property Agents (AAAPI)
